Route: Pine Creek Trail to pass, cross country to Royce Lakes, to Merriam-Royce saddle, up South Face.

Notes: Intermittently smokey. We started at 5:11am, I arrived at Royce summit at 6h40m later, back at the car at 13h10m. I didn't have energy for a Merriam Peak attempt; Rafee climbed it while I descended Royce and waited at the saddle. Rafee's Photos
